KIDS DROP-OFF

We want you to feel comfortable knowing that your child’s safety is a top priority here at Riverside Kids. Please find a team member upon entering and they’ll lead you to the drop off area.

Safety and security are very important to us here at Riverside Church. Our kids team will assist new parents as they register their children and help them to their classrooms. Upon registering, parents will receive a security tag matching your child’s tag. The parents security tag will be required for picking up your child in order to ensure your child’s safety.

WHAT ARE THE MESSAGES LIKE?

In every service, you will hear a relevant, straightforward message based on Scripture that will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide you with a strong Biblical foundation.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Our services are for you, so come dressed however you feel most comfortable. We’re thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. Dressed up or dressed down, we have a variety of styles at our services.

WHO WE ARE

We are Riverside Church

We are a home for everyone to worship Jesus, celebrate community, and help others.

Co-pastored by Aaron and Barbara Grass, Riverside Church is a loving, welcoming church that aims to meet the needs of the local community physically, emotionally, and most importantly spiritually. We believe that people are body, soul, and spirit and that it is vital that all aspects of a person are healthy.

Pastors Aaron and Barbara Grass

Our proximity to the Exeter River inspired the name Riverside, but our name goes far deeper than geography. Our name combines the deep spiritual history of our town and our desire for the Holy Spirit to be the River of life to the people of Exeter and beyond. We desire to see our community filled with people who have encountered God and have experienced His transformative power. When this happens our community will flourish like never before, and the people of the Riverside Church are committed to this mission.

There is a profound image in Ezekiel 47 where Ezekiel is shown around a desert temple near the Dead Sea. The land around the temple isn’t brimming with life, but Ezekiel sees water flowing out from the temple. This water grows deeper and wider until it becomes a river, with life flourishing on its banks. Ezekiel learns that where the river flows, there is life. We believe Jesus is the Living Water and that as we make Him known and allow the Holy Spirit to flow through us, there will be life and those around us will be profoundly impacted.

We want Riverside Church to be a source of nourishment, love, and support for our community. Our church is a place where members of our community can come as they are, take part in life changing services and enjoy a growing community of like minded people. They will experience a warm welcome in an uplifting atmosphere that will empower them to receive that which their souls crave most.

We also see our responsibility to reach out and serve those nearby. We follow the example of Jesus who made himself a servant to serve the people around Him. We believe that deep connections are created as we serve those around us together.

From Ezekiel, we see the power that a single river has to bring life, revitalize what was once believed to be dead, and to ultimately change the world. Our church is committed to allowing the River of Life to flow through us into our community bringing peace, love, and healing to all we come in contact with.

WHAT WE CELEBRATE

Carrying on the Ministry of Jesus Christ

The church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations — baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.

Baby Dedication

Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which Christian parents (and sometimes entire families) stand before the church and make a commitment to raise their child(ren) according to the Word of God. Christian parents who dedicate a child(ren) are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child(ren) in a godly way until they can make a decision for themselves (1 Samuel 1:11, Luke 2:22).

Baptism

Water baptism is an act of faith and obedience to the commands of Christ. Baptism is a symbol of Christ’s burial and resurrection. Our entrance into the water during baptism identifies us with Christ’s death on the cross, His burial in the tomb and His resurrection from the dead.Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a public confession of your faith in, and commitment to, Jesus Christ. It is the next step after salvation through repentance and faith and is an important foundation for Christian life. It is a symbol of your new life as a Christian. We bury the “old life” and we rise to walk in a “new life”. Baptism does not make you a believer; it shows that you already are one! Baptism does not “save” you; only your faith in Christ does that. (Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:17)

Marriage

God established monogamous marriage between a male and female as the foundation of the family, and as an example of the spiritual marriage with Jesus as the groom, and His church as His bride. (Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:9-11).
